The Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon & 1⁄2 Marathon occurs Sunday, October 21st, 2018, and Vista Energy Marketing is proud to announce that we are a first-time sponsor for this event. We are excited to come together with 18,000 runners, 3,000 volunteers, 100,000 spectators, and 1,000 fundraisers who make this race possible.

Since 2012, the Columbus Marathon has directly supported the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, an institution pursuing life-saving research that creates best outcomes for kids everywhere. The race is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness for the hospital’s efforts, recognize the people doing the work, and provide patients with treasured memories.

This is no ordinary marathon. Each of the 26.2 miles on the course features an inspiring story, which gives participants some much-needed motivation to keep running. Our favorite highlights include:

• Patient Champions: 24 different patients undergoing treatment at Nationwide Children's Hospital line a mile of the race. Specifically celebrated for their strength and bravery, each Patient Champion selects a theme for their mile, and that mile is decorated accordingly so that Race Day becomes an unforgettable memory. 
• The Angel Mile: The Marathon dedicates Mile 11 in remembrance of the children who are no longer with us.
• The Encore Mile: At Mile 18, the race celebrates former Patient Champions, as well as each and every child who has lined the course since 2012.

Vista Energy is honored to support such a remarkable cause. Over $7 million has been raised for Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the past 7 years, including $800,000 by the Columbus Marathon Board of Directors. More impressively, over $420,000 was raised in 2017 alone by the Children’s Champion, an exclusive fundraising opportunity that allows people to form teams of super-dedicated fundraisers.
