The California Consumer Privacy Act (the “Act”) was enacted in 2018 and took effect on January 1, 2020. The Act grants new rights to California consumers, including the right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared or sold, both as to the categories and specific pieces of personal information.
The types of personal information that Vista Energy collects include the consumer’s (1) name; (2) address; (3) contact information provided by consumer upon enrollment; (4) Utility Account ID
Vista Energy collects consumer personal information in order to complete the enrollment process for Vista Energy’s services. Once a consumer is enrolled with Vista Energy, Vista Energy maintains consumer personal information in order to continue providing services to consumer, to maintain consumer’s account, and to process transactions relating to consumer’s account. Vista Energy does not sell consumer’s personal information nor does it use the information for marketing purposes.
